Ever have those workouts where you feel like you accomplished nothing?

Yep. Your mental state can measurably vary the effectiveness of your workout. Only way to have a good workout every time is exhaustive caloric output and raised heartbeat for extended period.

No, never actually. 😛 I always love the feeling and adrenaline rush of pushing myself each and every time.

In fact, I'm currently training for a local marathon! 😀

Haha I feel alright during most workouts. However the next day when I see I've made almost zero progress and feel sore is when it kicks in. The worst is practicing some sport (for me tennis) and seeing no progress there...

Did the regular routine, just felt blah afterwards. Felt like a waste of time and energy.

IMO, that's your problem right there. You gotta mix it up. Shock your muscles with something a bit different than they're used to.
