Ever have the cutoff on a gas pump not cutoff?

I've had it where it cuts off before the tank is even close to full, so i have to sit there and hold it halfway so it will keep fueling. that pisses me off. Does anyone know why this happens occasionaly?

Hey, Skoob lets go for a smoke 🙂

I have to keep pulling the nozzle out halfway, always looks like its going to fall out. The stupid thing cuts off when I put the nozzle in all the way.

I'm going to have no choice but to go through Oregon again I fear. I'm pumping my own gas though. Fvck moronic laws. Or maybe I'll just bring a whole bunch of gas cans and fill them up before I drive through Oregon. I don't care what I have to do.

Whats so bad about full service ? NJ has one of the lowest gas prices in the country

Had it happen with by old vehicle, used to have a '95 Chevy Blazer and some times when I'd try and "top it off" it would splash out.

All the freaking time!

I had to have some of the paint redone afterwards once also because it corroded the paint.

I always seem to get the the pump with the broken or shoddy auto cutoff. Sometimes it decides to randomly cut off every 2 seconds and sometimes the little metal piece is broken clean off.

First of all, it slows me down. Second of all, I hate the idea of letting some unknown schmuck touch my car. I don't valet park and I don't go to any mechanic that I haven't thoroughly researched. Thirdly I hate, hate, hate the implication that I'm too dumb to know how to use a cas pump but some HS dropout is competant. Finally, it's something of a ritual. I know the car better than anyone else and I like to stay connected to it.

the implication? i never got that implication. people hire drivers so that they dont need to do the driving, not cuz theyre too dumb to drive. same with chefs, maids, etc.

so if u dont like having an unknown schmuck touch your car...then where exactly do u keep ur car all day long? do u leave it in the garage and bike ur way around?

I was fiddling in the trunk and I heard a splashing, looked over and saw that the pump was pumping onto the ground, kinda like that movie with that white guy and martin short 🙂 Never had it happen before. Now my shoes are rank with gasoline, which is an even worse smell than my feet.

Throw a match on it to dry them off 😉
