Yo,
Think I had one last night. Flashing lights for a little while, bad headache, nausea, chills. Headache's still there, but not as bad.

Sucks to get old.

When I was young, I was subject to migraines, but they disappeared once I finished growing. Yes, the symptoms you describe could be a migraine. But, they could also be a variety of other problems. SEE A DOCTOR.

I use to have a migrane headache once or twice a month. I have seek many doctors for help but none could found anything wrong. Most of them suggested that I watch what I'm eating especially mushrooms, Tomatos, Strawberry and MSG<----Major Migrane If you are eating out a lot. Also try to keep yourself warm whenever possible. constant change in tempurature could lead to migrane headaches. If none of the above helped well you've got a serious problem and I suggest seeeking a doctor.

I had what I thought were recurring constant migraines. Turned out I had a stroke, see a doctor.

I've only had one truly memorable one in my life, but I remember it well:

- Severe, throbbing headache.
- Extreme pressure from behind my eyes - it felt like someone was trying to hammer their way out of my skull through my eye sockets.
- Light sensitivity
- Nausea

Felt quite a bit better after I puked though.

Yes I have most certainly had migraines, as diagnosed by doctors from the time I was very little. I have, for the most part, almost out grown them!

See your doctor. :) While many of the symptoms are the same among people, they can vary and only a doctor can diagnose!

Yo,
Went to the doctor today (Tuesday 3/26), gave me a thorough physical. Said it couldn't have been a stroke, after all the physical neurological tests he had me perform. That's good.

Gave me a prescription of Imitrex nasal spray in case another migrane ever returns.

Thanks for sharing the information, had no idea so many folks have migranes.

Migranes are not fun...

I used to get them, but have grown out of them pretty much now

Pounding, light sensitive, often pain in own area (for me it was my right frontal lobe)

Pretty debilitating

I hope the IMITREX works for you...it doesn't on me and it costs an arm and a leg. Ther are other remedies , some better than others and some quite addictive. What it all boils down to is ..not much really helps a migraine aside from sleep. That's the only relief that's not harmful to you . You don't want to get into the Fiorinal, Percocet, Darvon type of pain relievers if you get migraines a lot. They'll do you more harm than good. Your safest bet is to analyze what may cause your headaches....some foods trigger them and in some people they can even be caused by irregularity.

Been there, done that. Migranes are definately not fun. I've had them and still do on rare occasions. Best help I've found is to apply HEAT to your head and go to sleep in a very dark and very quite place. Wrapping a hot towel around your head helps, but be careful not to suffocate yourself. Not saying that this is medically sound advice, but hey, it works for me so thought I'd share...

I have migraines a lot.

My symptoms:

Extreme irritability (according to my husband)
Sensitivity to light, sound, and smell
My head throbs
The pain travels all the way from the top of my forehead to the base of my skull.
Nausea (Viper GTS is right, you feel better after you puke)
