Ever gotten out of the friend zone after a long time stuck in it?

Just curious if any of you have gotten "out" of the friend zone (ie, scored or gotten hooked up with) after being stuck in it.

I am not referring to any situation in my life, I'm jsut curious, cause a lot of people comlpain about being "stuck in the friends zone" with a girl... I have a gf, so I'm not stuck anywhere with anyone - I'm just wondering about this. Just random thoughts popped into my head..

Yeah. I was friends with a girl for about 1.5 years, then we went out, broke up, went out, broke up, she asked me out again and I kicked her to the curb. What a waste of time.

Lots of times, but it only works if you're really friends, if you're secretly holding out for her, you're screwed...

Yes. I was totally into this girl in college, she wanted to be friends. We stayed friends over the years, last year we ended up hooking up. Then she wanted more, but I wasn't into it--realized I had been flirting with her more out of habit than anything else.

So in my case, it took 18 years to get out of the friend zone.

There are two exceptions:

1. The guy is in denial because he "thinks" he doesn't want this....but deep down the only reason he listens to her boring stories, guy problems, and insignificant rants is because he wants to bang her.
2. The girl is ugly but fun to hang around.
