Ever gone to work sick?

sucks, yup gone to work sick. a job i had enforced a "8 unplanned event" per year rule. if you called out more than that in one years time you lost your job.

Telecommute FTW!

I haven't gone to work sick while at my last two jobs because I can work from home. No need to share my germs with others.

I've gone to work and school sick, unless it was extremely contagious or if it was so bad that I couldn't walk or stand.

No, it would have been discourteous to my coworkers. But then, I have a pretty good immune system... except for a recent bout with strep throat, I haven't been sick in five years. (Not counting Bell's palsy three years ago which isn't in the same category.)

I haven't taken a sick day since I started working (~4 years).

I've never been too sick to work. I have changed how I do things to avoid spreading whatever I have, but I don't feel I've been sick enough to warrant a day off.

You sound like a hairdresser.

Yes. In 20 years and 6 months, I've missed work due to sickness 4 times...

Once I was taken to the ER for an emergency CAT scan
Once, I had to be driven home because I was so sick (food poisoning)
Once, I couldn't bear the pain in the eye - deep scratch on the cornea - had to be taken to ER
and once, I had to have my arm worked on in the doctor's office (needed to have an infection drained from my elbow) - I wouldn't have missed work that day, except Dr #2 thought it was broken and that they must have misread the x-ray or didn't have the right angle.

Plus, on that 4th day, it was scheduled in advance... I'd have used personal time instead of sick time, but I'm only allowed to accumulate up to 200 days of sick time.

Same here.

Couple of times when I had to go in...but usually just work from home on those days.
