Not talking about McDonalds for lunch, sit down restaurants for dinner. Ever go by yourself? Going to go to a greek restaurant I've been meaning to try for a while. Usually go out with the parents which needs to stop, lol, (they are out of town for a few days) but going by myself feels a little odd too.

My mother actually gave me $30 for meals while they are gone. WTF!? I'm 28, not 14  Tried declining it but she insisted so I'm going to have a nice meal. :awe:

Yep, when traveling for work alone. Why wouldn't I go out for dinner? Company is going to pay for it, better than sitting in my hotel room alone.

Sure. Applebees is great whether with someone or alone. Red Robin is equally enjoyable.

current job has me staying in a hotel and eating at restaurants nightly during the weekdays, so yes, I eat at a restaurant every night alone.

Meh....If I'm going straight to the bar to grab a bite, sure. Get a table by myself.......nope.

Kinda feels along the same lines as going to the movies solo.

Nah, that's the sound of your empty wallet when you open it ;) Sooner or later you won't be a poor college student and you'll understand.

I typically only go out to eat alone if I'm traveling away from home. If I'm alone, at home, and don't want to make my own food I'll typically get some takeout and eat it while on the couch watching a movie.

I'm going out to dinner by myself tonight which I feel a little odd doing but I see nothing strange at all about going to a movie alone!

No it's the sound of the whole concept going over your head. If you had said something about get a GF or go with friends or get out more or something along those lines I would understand, that's why I feel a little odd going by myself. However not going just because of penny pinching is well... fail.

I haven't, and I wouldn't unless I was alone on a work trip or something. Even then I'd probably sit at the bar.

I do it quite often because I'm too lazy to cook, and don't have a SO to share a meal.

Waste of money. You can sit at home, cruise the Internet, watch TV, or play games while eating.

I do that usually when I'm on an expense account. But I don't have any problem with it, nor do I have any problem going to see a movie on my own.

waste of money and time. you've got nothing to do while waiting for food, it'd be easier to buy stuff and make your own.

I have done this. It's kind of no fun alone though.

Eating out at a fine restaurant is a social thing so doing it alone is probably more like banging a real doll.
