true, they shouldn't declare it as 'unlimited', however that's like a regular internet browsing package, as 200mb for regular mobile internet browsing is probably hard to reach. they are just trying to prevent the heavy data users, which would have to sign up for a more expensive service.
bad marketing but understandable at the same time.

the definition of unlimited is having no limits in range or scope

so shouldnt this be false advertising?

Same thing just popped up with TrueCredit (a credit reporting agency). They advertised unlimited access to your credit report for a monthly fee, and recently started cancelling customers who used the service daily. I have been reading threads on other boards about people getting cancelled, even though I got a email from TrueCredit just yesterday offering me the exact same thing - unlimited access to my credit report.

I dont think the NY attorney general can do much about a UK based company (from the OP), but ive seen it here in the US as well.

It's the same as how the food industry can claim that <0.5g = 0g.

They obey their own special laws of mathematics.

It happens in hosting all the time, especially when someone offers something like 2000GB of bandwidth for $5/month. They'll put CPU limits in the TOS, and that creates a bottleneck and/or reason to suspend account.

That sucks but it was at least stated in big enough letters. If this was Rogers or Bell (Canadian wireless providers) I'd need an electron microscope to read the disclaimer.

I'd be thrilled to have an 18mbps connection with a 100gb monthly cap. $100 a month? Sure, I'd pay that. 1 have a 1mbps connection, with a 12gb monthly cap for $70 a month. That's about the best I can do. :(

Wow, I thought I had it bad. I get a 784/280 kbps connection with unlimited for $50 a month. I'm still envious of those Japanese and their 1gbps synchronous :(

I have the Shaw high speed, like $50 or something a month, 5mbps, 80GB cap, and I download a LOT, never hit it.

Yeah, I knew TrueCredit offered that but I never thought they would cancel accounts due to overusage.

But I seriously have to question those who feel the need to pull a new 3-bureua credit report on a daily basis...
