Ever feel like...

you need permission to feel good? I have had a lot of issues in my life. Things are not as good as I would like, but because I think about stuff a lot, and that I am introverted, I feel like I shouldn't feel ok. Do you ever feel anything like that? I know it is kinda weird, and I am kind of a weird person, but I was just wondering.

Thanks,

Perry

Yes, millions of other people deal with this. That's why so much medical research/resources is devoted to it.

Nikamichi: A little like that, but not as pronounced as it has been in the past. I guess I am seeking something, but don't know what. Oh well. Thanks for the responses.

Give yourself the gift of self-worth. It sounds as if you need to take pride in something that you will enjoy doing. If you're a patient man that likes to use his hands, how about painting or cooking? It may sound trivial, but finding anything to do that may keep your mind occupied can make a world of difference.

Your father may have passed away two years ago today, but I'm sure you think of him every day, and not just on the anniversary of his death. Today is no different than yesterday until you make it so.

I'm a bit confused but it seems like you're trying to say that you feel ok, but don't think that you should? Seems like the guilt (or confusion whatever) that you are feeling negates the idea that you are feeling ok. So cheer up, your actually NOT OK so there's no reason to fabricate another layer of mental stress.

I think you need to take a retreat and go somewhere that appeals to you (somewhere quiet and isolated, maybe Utah or somewhere), and just get in touch with your feelings and forget all about your life and focus on the beauty around you. It helps, trust me.

IS there anyone you can talk to? Not a doctor, just a friend you can unload on. Sometimes if you keep all the stuff in your head you can obsess on a little (or a lot) and kind of lose perspective. It can help to talk to someone about what you're thinking and going through.

It sucks that you feel down. I hope things get better for you.
