Ever doodled at work? "art thread"

That reminds me of some crappy philosophy class where 75% of the students were arties. (Art students)
"Class, can you tell me what the deep meaning is behind this design"
Idiot 1. "Wow, that's really deep. I think the artist was trying to catch the inner beauty of the human body. The red on the inside is the blood stream. Then, there's the yellow that represents the internal organs, and then more red.... "
Idiot 2. "Wow, I see what you're seeing, but I think it's even deeper. I think the red in the center represents communist Russia. They're surrounded by the yellow, obviously representing China. But, the red white and blue around the outside represent that the United States dominates over them because we're a better country."

Me: (making a huge idiotic mistake) "Maybe the deep meaning is that the artist was bored. Perhaps he was just doodling. See, <holding up notebook> I'm doodling. What's it mean? It means this is boring."

Guess what grade I got in the course... NEVER EVER point out how lacking in scientific merit a class has when there is no scientific rationalization for whatever grade a prof decides to give you.
