Yeah. Backed into an illegally parked car (happened to be my ex's car). Caused $1300 in damages, insurance would have gone up $1200 so I just paid it off and did not file.

No, although I have been in an accident which was 100% the other person's fault.. insurance was unchanged.

i rearended a merucry sable and pushed it under an audi, so the the rear of the audi was on top the sable. Damn near totaled the sable (it was a pos to begin with), messed up he audi pretty well, and dented my liscense plate.

What kind of increase did you see in your insurance costs?

It's a rather personal question I understand, and no answer is at all needed.

I'm just trying to get an idea for a friend of mine.

nope. never caused one. thats why my insurance is 'you're fault'. because if im getting in an accident, chances are its going to be 'you're fault'. ;)

Closest encounter would be on a 3 lane highway. Both the right and center lanes, cars are in a staggered formation. But there is this stupid person clogging the left lane by pacing the center cars. As I approach him, I blink my highbeams at him. He notices me and is nice enough to merge over to let me pass, but this guy doesn't even check if he can merge safely to the right. There's a bunch of honking and brake lights as he cuts off the other driver, but luckily, nothing happen.

So yes, I almost caused an accident by forcing the guy to move out of my way, but he was also an idiot for crusing in the passing lane and not checking his blind spot before merging over.
