Ever catch/capture a foul/home run ball or hockey puck?

I came close twice, both times the ball bounced off the first guys hands and then off some seat, just too many other people closer to it after the deflection. Anyone able to snag one? Does anyone on here even go to sporting events? :p

No, but my grandfather got hit by a hockey puck once...

he's no longer with us, but it's not due to the puck. RIP grampa. :(

I caught one in the head at an Edmonton Oilers game back in the '80s. They gave me the puck, and one signed by several of the team, including Gretzky, Messier, Fuhr, Lowe. Unfortunately, at some point in my childhood, I took it to school and lost it! :(

I'd hate to be near when a puck come over the glass. Did it hurt your grandfather?

was at a cardinals game back when what his mcgwire was doing hit homerun thing(i'm not a baseball fan but it was paid for so i went) and he smashed one right next to a 10'x10' patch of bushes, my friend leaped over the railing to get it(it was 5 feet away from our seats) but a security guard stopped him, got the ball and walked off, have no idea what happened to the ball.

Naw it didnt hurt him, he was walking to his seat at the time and I think he was just more startled than anything else... still, I'm surprised it DIDNT hurt... ice hockey pucks are damn dense.

The ref tossed me a puck after the first period once. Never caught anything during play.

Ouch, im thinking getting hit with a puck would be much more painful and deadly, if the velocities are the same.

"caught" at a line drive foul ball at a BYU baseball game. I basically stopped the line drive (sitting behind the first base dugout) wiht my bare hand, the ball dropped at my feet and I picked it up...then realized the intense pain where the ball struck my left hand. Then one of the young ball boys came up and asked me for the ball back...I turned it in and got a free soda.

Ive actually caught two home run balls in my life and a few foul balls too. Its alot easier at a minor league stadium where I have made most of my catches. I did catch a rickey Henderson homerun ball back in the day at the Coliseum...almost nobody saw them play in the 80s.

Yes. But during batting practice before a Reds game. I was out in the outfield and heard the crack, looked up and didn't even move. Caught it with my bare hands. Then gave it to a 3 year old kid. It was awesome. I have played baseball a lot, so I have developed soft hands, but it hurt a bit after the adrenaline went down.

I got a guitar pick from Munky, from Korn... and that's because it fell to my feet and I noticed it a few minuted later. :)

I've caught three foul balls, and have ended up with 20 foul balls at Fenway Park over the years.

We always sit in the view lvl, too far up to catch anything. Nice view if some fat asses don't sit right in front of us though.

I had a foul ball bounce off my hand once during a Texas Rangers game. I was trying to catch it on the bounce.

Just missed getting a foul ball once in Cleveland Stadium. It was a cold day and the crowd was sparse, and someone else ran over from two sections over and grabbed it before I could.

Wish I would have gotten it because that day Dave Stieb no-hit the Tribe, and it would have been a great personal souvenir. Still was a rush to see a no-hitter, though.

Not caught one, but found a foul ball outside of Comiskey Park (i know its called US Cellular now but to me its always gonna be Comiskey) near a parked car. Can't be certain who hit it but a foul ball is a foul ball. :)

My uncle found like 3 others.
