Ever buy something refurbished or used and when you received it, you find something wrong with it? Doesn't have to be something major, could be something minor, like scratches or cracks, stuff like that.

Bought a used N64 and found the system takes few resets for games to work, and the controller sticky. None of these things were mentioned when I bought it. :frown:

Return it.

I've never had a problem with a refurbished item. I think sometimes for a refurbished item you have to expect scuffs/scratches. However, it should function well.

I bought a camera off this forum and it was a refurb but I didn't know until after I received it. It was no good but the seller returned my cash without a hassle.

Make sure you know the difference with refurbished terminology. If it's factory refurbished, it means the factory essentially disassembled the unit and threw in a lot of new components, backed up with a limited warranty. Otherwise, "refurbished" could mean anything -- even a broken unit just mopped down with a wet towel.

I've bought a number of things refurb/open box and I haven't had any problems... knock on wood. I've got a Sony CD minisystem that was a refurb purchased about 10 years ago that still works great.
