ever build something out of low end parts, just to say you did it?

I am putting a new system in my car using all Extreme components by Directed Audio. Extreme is their low end stuff. Everyone at work thinks its funny.

It would be like maiking a rig out of all Mad Dog components.

Have you ever done anything like this just to say you did it?

It just gets boring saying, "I have these $200 speakers and they sound awesome." I want to be able to say. "I have these middle of the road speakers and they actually sound decent."

no hack job here. I sell and install car audio so it will look nice. I am going to have to cut out my doors to fit the 6.5 inch components, but that will be half the fun.

Oh, I thought you meant Build something out of low end parts... as in... like building a workbench, or a bicycle, or maybe even a beater truck out of parts from a junk yard.
