Just got a oversized post card today from Al and Ed's Autosound. They are giving away a free $50 gift card (no purchase required). All you have to do is enter in your code and get the validation code back in the email and go pick up your gift card from a B&M location. Since all I bought from them were Sprint phones a while back (great deal, mentioned here too so many of you may be getting these) they must of had me in the system. Keep your eyes posted and don't toss those postcards.

Yup, just got one of these in the mail. Pretty cool. Here's some text from the front of their oversized postcard:

Free $50 Gift Card

Just for being a valued Al & Ed's Customer, we'd like to give you an Al & Ed's Gift Card worth $50 towards anything in our store.

NO GIMMICKS! NO MINIMUM PURCHASE REQUIRED! NO EXCLUSIONS!

In fact, you can even give it as a gift to a loved on this holiday season!

They have a web site, but most of it's under construction: Al & Ed's Web Site

Monkeybutler,

I'm not sure about the $25 GC, I believe you just enter your info and it e-mails you a code. Probably need to take that code into the store to get the $25 GC. It might be part of the LA Times promotion Al and Ed's has been running...

I don't know what's under $50, but I'll probably go to my local store today and check it out. If I find anything interesting, I'll post it here.

I went and picked up my $50 gift card @ A&E. Looks like it's good until January 31, 2002. My local store (Long Beach, CA) is pretty small - almost like a A&Ed's Express or something - so I couldn't really find anything @ $50 or less. They did have a few low-end AM/FM/CD head units for your car at the $100 mark. So if you were buying something like that as a gift, it might work out pretty well.

I'm going to try to find a bigger store that carries more stuff. I'll betcha some of the bigger stores will have things like radar detectors, or perhaps a few items closer to the $50 mark.

I noticed an Al & Ed's Ad that's showing the Pioneer XM Satellite Radio Tuner w/ a Terk TRK-SR2 XM Antenna ($79 value) for $249 (After $30 Terk MIR). So if you deduct that $50 GC your down to $199.

Of course you have to subscribe to XM for $9.99/mo., but if you were interested in this kinda thing it might be a good deal!

Got myself a pair of speakers. I had two and they let me use both (he said as long as there were two people there it would be fine). The speakers (ecilpse 5x7 2-way, are they good btw?) were $129 and they gave them to me for $100 so it was free, install was $30 plus $6 for some kind of part fee and some tax. The one I went to also had aftermarket mods like altezza lights (which btw I think is ugly on any car), clear corners, etc and racing pedals, strobe light things (not sure what to call them), and also indiglo gauges. They also had a small selection of Cingular cell phones. This was the City of Industry location (very nice customer service) if you are interested.

Mysterie - wow, sounds like a good deal you got there :)

I did receive an e-mail from Al & Ed's that indicated if you use your $50 GC by December 31st, it's actually worth $100! Not too shabby. If you use it after that date, it's still worth $50, up until the expiration date.
