Ever bought refurbished ram?

I noticed newegg had kingston hyperx 2700pc133 on sale for 56 bucks refurbished... is this a bad idea?

Buying re-furb RAM can be tricky. Sometimes they're good and sometimes they're flaky. It's just like buying a "re-furbished" condom, you don't know what you're goin to get.....

yeah it really shoud... they should offer at least some kind of 30 day warranty if it's not fine..

Absolutely!!! Make sure about the warranty before buying. Personally, I wouldn't buy returned ram online. I'd buy used ram from a friend, if I could verify it's history and usage before buying.

You don't want to end up with a fried stick or one that's "on the way out" b/c it was massively overvolted or something.
