Ever been ready for war and the other side retreats?

It seems like whenever I'm (or other people) ready to go to war the other side retreats before things even begin.

Examples - based on events this week:

For example, You've got the killer line to use in an argument/discussion and the chance to use it never happens b/c the other side yields immediately.

Or you've made a decision, thought it out, ready with your reasons and you're prepared for the presentation of your decision. Then the other side accepts your decision without any questioning or discussion.

Anyone else ever have this kind of thing happen?

btw... thanks for saving me a bunch on my car insurance

Actually, one of the examples happened to a friend.

Has anybody experienced this phenomenon?

Homeworld 2, skirmish mode, the enemy shows up on your doorstep with 3 battlecruisers, sees that you've got 5 cruisers and a whole bunch of bombers, and they try to tail it out of there.

Gravwell generators though ensure that they stick around for the party. 🙂

No, but what has happened to me lately is this... someone is really annoying me or being difficult. Being a patient guy, I let it go, knowing eventually someone else who is less patient will go nutso on the person.
