Are you talking about the people who do their grocery shopping on Friday/Saturday or the people who go just for one or two things?

reminds me of a joke that goes something like:

A guy gets in the checkout line at the supermarket. In his cart is soda pop, frozen dinners and microwave burritos.

The checkout girl says to him, "You must be single."

The guy smiles and says, "Why yes, I am. How did you guess? By what I'm buying, right?"

And she says, "No, because you're fvcking ugly."

I like to go after 9ish. Tends to be less crowded and the only chicks I see wandering the isles are college chicks.... who I should probably ask out.

Are you sure your didn't mistake "a joke" with "your life" ?

I like doing my shopping at about 1AM on weekdays. There is not one damn person in the entire store then. Shopping when there are other people around pisses me off. People don't know how to buy groceries :/

Same goes for the mall. I pretty much avoid malls like the plague unless I have to go into one, but if I do, I make sure it's during morning hours when there is less traffic. I've learned the weaving trick to get through crowds of people moving at one mile per hour with no goal in mind.

I would have to say that retail stores of all varieties are probably the cause of most of my anger. Am I the only one?

Edit: I forgot to answer the question. No, I don't generally avoid doing things I want to do because of what someone I don't know might possibly think. I am no longer in junior high :p

So, throw a couple packs of Magnum condoms in with the groceries and she'll think differently.

If I have to go, I tell the chicks that my date is out in the car.

I don't know how to buy groceries. Can you explain? (honest question. I really am kinda clueless with that)

How can you not know how to buy groceries? You decide what you want to eat and just go buy it.

I've never thought about going at 1am - when I was in school I'd go after lunch before 3pm during a break between classes. There wasn't as many people there - but the people that were there were old people. I have nothing against the elderly, except when they're blocking the isle by going as slow as humanly possible when I need to get groceries so I can spend the rest of my break between classes slacking off :).

Now that I'm working I tend to go after work on a Monday or Tuesday.

Well... my main gripe is that people don't seem to think at all about what they plan to do once they walk into the aisle and then when they stop to try to remember which cereals they like, they park their damn cart right in the middle and effectively block all movement.

And uh, when I go shopping, I usually just like, go buy the food. I'm not sure I understand the question :)

I hit the produce first, then go in a wide arc around the outside of the store since most of my stuff is there, and I don't eat a lot of processed food. Then I go into the dreaded middle to get the few things I need and try to bob and weave through there. Generally can get $50 of food in like 5-10 minutes. I prefer to shop more frequently and buy less food at once, but then it's just me and my wife and we don't eat as much as a family of four so anytime we buy a lot at once we end up throwing stuff out just because we sort of forgot about it.

Why would I car what people making min. wage think?

I go to the store only when absolutely needed.

If i only need bread/milk I go to the local store,vs a big grocery chain/Walmart/Kmart type store.;)

no. they're getting money. you're losing money.

sure, it's not desirable to work on a weekend-night, but hey, it's cash.

I shop whenever I need stuff. I can't believe people actually think of this stuff. Really, you care what people think?

Here's a hint. When you're hankering for an apple, buy some bananas.

by the way, when i was still in college, i saw guys and girls at the grocery store at odd hours all the time. more often than not, they were getting a quick study fix or buying beer for a party.

it never really mattered though... nobody cared what the other was doing.
