Eventually One Race?

With advancements in communication, technology, travel ect, do you think that it is possible that in the future everyone will be one race, as in one color. No white, black, hispanic. Heck, i see it happening more and more each day with inter-racial couples marrying and i find nothing wrong with it as long as they love eachother. i myself do not see doing it but I think if things keep leading the way they do then it is possible. A white and black couple marrying is not a big deal as it was in the 50's as is a cathloic and jewish couple marrying used to be. Especially with more and more people (particuarily this new generation) not having a formal organized religion (as i do not believe in any form of religion). Next generations are being borught up with less and less racism and more equality every day. While i am not saying that intolerance will be erased, becuase as long as humans exsist there will be, it just may take a different form in the future. Anyway this is a debate i have with my dad often when i call him on weekends.

Obviously there are many more factors i just listed brief ones above. The more i think about it the more i believe that it could happen. Of course then we earth people may discriminate against people from another universe, that is saying life on this planet still exsists ect ect ect and all that other sci fi stuff aside.....

inter-racial marriage is more accepted now than it used to be and keeps getting more so each day.

there is so much you can say to support or disprove this idea....

There are probably other social factors that will effect this that we cannot yet know that will contribute to the outcome..

there will always be regional evolution, although I do agree that we will eventually look much similar, there will always be enough there for morons to complain about.

it does not matter. people will continue to discriminate based on asinine beliefs, such as religion. see, there, I'm doing it right in that statement.

Well, given that the concept of "race" is a cultural construct and is not by any means naturally occuring, technically the question you're asking is a bad question to begin with.

There is one thing we're all members of, however, and that is the species known as Homo Sapiens.

Edit: If you think racism is dead you're a complete ignoramus. It is alive and well, albeit in more difficult-to-detect form.

africans being black is definitely a cultural construct 😛

i can see it happening though at the rate we are going. sure, why not.

It could happen if there were ever another colony established long enough to promote breeding. But that couldn't happen on Earth, Mars maybe a'la Total Recall.

Yeah I definitely think so. We'll all eventually looking something like philipino people i think. Tanner skin with black hair. Although undoubtlly there will still be individual variations.

I have to say no.

People in Arkansas and Kentucky will always marry their own.......even their own cousins.

(Flame suit, check!)

philipino-looking? huh?

I don't think people will ever be the same color, as even within families (with same parents) there are many variations. And even if they were, people would pick on some other characteristic to discriminate upon. Also, we will likely have more control over our physical appearance in future generations, so who knows what people will choose to conform or stand out.

You will always have the "racial purity" hold-outs that will not inter-breed, holed up in some cabin in the Ozarks.

i never said racism was dead, i said the opposite actually, and actually you cna argue that race is naturally occuring because that is how in the past wehn you could not travel there arrose many different tribes and breeds of people, in that sence of the word

also last guy: i agree, someone will probably want to claim that they are a pedigree like a dog lol

My wife breeds AKC Flat-coated Retrievers. You wouldn't believe the extremes some of these breeders go to for "purity."

The really tan'ed skin, but not black, and with the black hair. I guess kind of Latino looking but only darker skin pigment

and of course theres always people trying to be individuals, and by then an "operation" to make your skin blue will porbably only take 35 min

There will never be just one race. Its got nothing to do racism either. Just the natural order of culture alone will seperate races. There will be a less racial purity for lots of reasons, but even in that I doubt you'll have any one race ever be 25% or more mixed.
