Here's a quick question for anybody that loves Windows 2000...
I want to view a remote PCs event viewer from the comfort of my own desk.
Everything is configured correctly and I can view the Event Viewer of the server I want (Windows 2000 Server) from my machine (A Windows NT Workstation).
I set up a Snap-In from the Microsoft Console Management and all is well.
The problem lies in actually viewing the logs. I can see everything just fine, but when I view the 'Security' log in the Event Viewer, in the 'User' field, I only get to see the long-ass UID strings, instead of the username. I can see the username just fine if i'm viewing the Event Viewer from the machine itself, locally that is.
Anybody got any ideas?
