I'm using Verizon DSL (3.0 MBps). I'm planning on reformatting soon, but this problem has been bugging me and I was wondering if any of you would have an answer for it.
For those who don't know, here's the information I'm getting on my Event ID 1007. It shows up every time I reboot my computer, and it's also accompanied by an icon in my system tray which says "Acquiring Network Address."
I don't know if that Event ID has anything to do with it, but I throw it out there in the hopes that someone will be able to help me. My motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-K8NF-9, and I'm using the onboard network.
If you need anything else, let me know. The rest of my specs are listed in my sig.

So I go there but, not being well-versed in the ways and mysteries of networking, my eyes quickly glaze over. I've noticed that my internet can, from time to time, be remarkably... inconsistent. That is to say that, according to the icon in my system tray which indicates network activity, I am sending packets but receiving none from the powers that be.Your computer has automatically configured the IP address for the Network Card with network address 000FEA850154. The IP address being used is [my IP]. For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp
