Event Horizon: Just starting on SciFi Channel, Worth watching??

i'm not a big fan of horror movies myself. but this one seems to have a decent cast.

The only thing I'm afraid of are images that'll last in the mind long after the movie is over...

I fear however that it will be "hacked to bits" as most of the really good stuff is rather graphic.

I liked it... I would recommend not watching this alone. Pretty scary if your by yourself.

Argh... so tempted to watch... so tempted... alright I'll watch until the first scary scene starting now. Someone check on me in a few minutes.

EDIT>>> Hmmm... not so scary with the volume off. 😉 That's a sign that the directors use the cheap 'sudden-noise' scare tactic. :|

Glad to see some other people who agree with me about this very cool movie. My understanding is that there was a lot more to the story but right before it's release the studio ordered lots of edits made that really broke up the story. There has been talk of a Directors Cut of it for a long time and I would be first in line to get it!

P.S. Rent the Widescreen DVD if you really want to see it. Don't settle for half the movie AND scenes cut out!!!

This is one of those movies that I enjoyed but I wish they would release extras like showing the "other place" (vagueness for not spoiling). Definitely worth watching if you can tolerate the commercials. Don't forget tomorow night starts the Dune miniseries.

There is so much to the sets and colors. Lots more to read into when you watch it a few times.

I thought it was terrible. One of those "worst possible choice" plots where everything that goes wrong is a result of the cast making the worst possible choices.

As a comedy (in the MST3K sense), it was OK. As horror it wasn't anywhere near great.
