I paid more for this game than 4 great dinners and I can't connect to play.

Have I been ripped off like a woman's shirt at Mardi Gras?

Seriously, I love BF2142 but these bugs are enough to make a man turn on his loved ones.

Anyone know a fix?

what turned me off was the whole in-game advertisement thing. Seriously, if EA is gonna make money off people like that, then the price of the game should not be $50.

This is the way the BF series are, there were plenty of warnings not to buy 2142 on this forum. The bugs aren't just annoying, they actually prevent gameplay. That is unacceptable. Maybe you'll get a fix... maybe. Good luck.

Wait...even 1942 had its own share of bugs?

Every game has bugs, most are just annoying and they usually get fixed decently quickly. EA has bugs that prevent the game from running at all and they aren't fixed in a timely manner. Hell BF2 wasn't playable for me until the 1.3 patch almost a year after release.

I never owned 1942. I bought BF2, SF and the 2 add-on packs. I enjoy it, but go through stages of playing it. I may play for a few hours over several days and then not touch it for a week. I won't buy 2142.

What's the in-game advertising?

Yes, some of which were not fixed by the time BF2 came out, about 3 years later. I don't think they were as bad as BF2 bugs though. Can't be sure on that since I bought BF1942 late.

The ingame advertising are billboards of intel core 2 duo ads. In the actual game, so when your driving around in that hover tank or w/e you see intel core 2 billboards.

I still enjoy playing BF2 and have put up with the various problems from 1.00-1.41, however, I am definately not buying 2142. Why? Although I know its not indicative of the final product, being disconnected 9 out of 10 times within the first 5 minutes or so in the 2142 demo can't be a good omen and reading countless posts of problems on the retail 2142 product has kept me far, far away from spending another $50. Let's hope EA doesn't botch Crysis...

The only issues that are souring me on 2142 are the Titan wall exploits that people are starting to use otherwise the bugs have not bothered me.

Sony's worse.

At least Sony's stuff usually works.

Agreed.
I personally like Sony right now, and people aren't giving enough credit to the PS3. Resistance:Fall of Mans multiplayer is great, and I can't wait to play MGS4, GTHD, etc on my friends PS3. I may buy one if I ever get an HDTV. Although PS3's games look as good on a regular TV as the 360's do on an HDTV.

Sony may be even worse.

I had a MiniDisc player a few years ago. It came with this software called OpenMG or something like that.

I had just reformatted my computer. After installing OpenMG, I found that it didn't work. I couldn't uninstall it or reinstall it. The only option I had left was to reformat my computer.

That sucked, I was so pissed. Then a few months later my MD started to break. POS. I love the MD idea, hate the quality.

BF2 is great. I never took the step into 2142 because of the way BF2 was. It had its buggs and I had enough patiences to continue to stick around. Soon after I played the 2142 Demo it had disaster written all over it. THANK GOD I need bought it.
