I thought I was bulletproof or Superman there for a while. I thought I'd never run out of nerve. Never. - Evel Knievel

That's sad. That man has stared at death hundreds of times. That one jump over the fountain, that was serious.

In the 70s he was always on TV doing something.

He had a head start in life just from having the bitching name Evel Knievel.

How do you not hire, promote, recruit, teamup or drink beer with a guy named Evel Knievel?

Evel was just a nickname. His real name was Robert Craig Knievel, Jr.

He was a great man in his own way. Ornery and tough as they come.

RIP

The guy had balls as big as church bells.

I remember watching him do his jumps for many years. Many were televised, and the ones that weren't always made the news programs, whether he made the jump or crashed. It's a miracle he lived as long as he did. I always expected him to die while making some crazy jump...

RIP Evel, and...thanks for the memories.

I got to meet him once at a car dealer promotional event. He had that certain something about him that made you feel that he was a living legend.

Think about your wildest fantasy and imagine that you have achieved that and got paid handsomely for it. What a guy!
