EVE ONLINE: Patching troubles

The latest patch for EVE came out and it is required to play online. I download it right when the window pops up once you see the login screen, I clicked on that window and it minimized my game. I left the download alone and began patching the game. The problem is it takes about two hours to tell me that the download is "corrupt"and that I need to reinstall the game plus a new patch installer.

The problem Im having right now is the destination folder for the patch. I could only find two files for the game (CCP/EVE ONLINE) and (EVE) in my documents. Both of those folder locations won't work. What do I do?

Thanks 🙂

This happened to me for the 4 patches prior to my quitting the game. DL'd them, tried to patch "corrupt installation." Copied EVE back off my backup image, still corrupted. Had to re-DL it just to patch. After 4 re-DLs I quit the game (oh yeah, and med school).

Didn't have any problems myself. The folders in your My Documents for EVE are for temporary and cache files. You should be able to go to eveonline.com and download the client which will be a small installer. Last big patch 2 weeks ago introduced a BT like workaround if windows' BITS couldn't do the download, this might be what is messing you up.

@Vrolok... how long ago was this? CCP uses a completely new distribution package now since March or something. Completely new and works for most people. Unfortunately not everyone has a PC that does A when you tell it to do A because of how its setup so people fall through the cracks.

So would you guys suggest trying patches from different websites till it works after trying to install them?

No, I'd suggest just redownloading the latest full client and install that.

That installs the game, but than you download the build off from the internet just as I described it at the beginning of the thread. If you notice the size of the latest patch and the game from the link you gave, you would know your gonna have to download stuff still. (the game, 1.5 mb|the patch, 217 mb)
