Yet to see anyone sighting the Gigabyte. Its delay does give me more time to get some cash together. :D

I'm thinking of getting 2 of Corsair CMX512-3500C2 512MB DDR433 PC3500 Memory w/Heat Spreader or Corsair 512MB DDR333 PC2700 64Mx64 184 DIMM CAS 2 32Mx8 DRAMs Memory w/Heat Spreader Retail
which one give me better performance

What mobo are you going to put the memory in? Corsair makes some very fast memory...Are you thinking about using it in a GB mobo?

Marlin 1975....
Thanks for the heads up about the SIS655...I've done some looking into it and I'm very excited about it...especially after dealing with all the GB hype. It almost appears that GB is dead before it even gets out of the shute! I know I'll be waiting now :( I was going to build my new puter over the holidays...looks like I'll be doing it over a week-end come the new year! LOL

Marlin 1975....
Do you know if gigabyte is going to offer a mobo with the sis655 chipset? If they include firewire and serial ata and all the goodies on the GA-8inxp I'll be standing in line for that mobo...dual ddr333! you know it! :)

From everything I have read most if not all major motherboard makers will use this chip. Reason why is it is prob. at least as fast as GB if not more? and it will be cheaper. Add in SiS has a pretty good southbridge already and this should take a BIG chunck out of the GB sales.

And now with some issues coming out about the AGP port and/or video issues with GB and Intel not saying much, well the SiS655 has a pretty good start and it is not even out yet.

Marlin 1975....
thanks for the reply....I'm gonna wait and see what happens for sure now. What's up with the AGP, do you know? I thought it was a bios tweak that was corrected already? Is this a current AGP problem and do you have a link I(we) can go to?...More reason to wait...I said in another thread it's starting to look like GB is dead before it gets out of the shute! Thanks for any future info you can contribute! :)

xtraits...I'm going with Corsair xms ddr400...i figure this ram will have a little longer lifespan...I saw it at googlegear for $171/512Mb...I have had 0 problems with googlegear and they're fast as hell...shipping was like 52 cents(two day) and it was here in two days! :)

Marlin 1975....
It seems the AGP8x issue has been put to rest...there isn't a problem with it anymore, but intel's responce gives one a reason to question their support of this chipset...and here I thought intel was making an honest effort to raise the bar, at least they did correct the problem so maybe ALL is not lost! LOL...
