Looks decent for a $1,400 car. It ought to serve you pretty well as long as the maintenance claims are correct.

I was gonna rip it, but for $1300 it's hard to go wrong...even if it is a T-Bird.

my borther had major problems with his '92 T-bird, but I attribute that tot he fact that he is an idiot when it comes to cars, not the car itself.

Not a bad deal. Don't expect any car with those miles to be trouble free, but if you keep it up well, it should serve you well.

Yeah, it's a Ford, but who am I to judge? I love Hondas, but my last car was a Saturn, and right now, I'm using my dad's old Tempo. I have got to lose the Tempo! Pretty darn slow, three speed auto, not great mileage, really bad handling, not to mention, ugly. But, like most Fords, it's got a really good heater!

Looks good for the price... That car is 11 years old and actually has under average mileage. Sounds like a good deal! Just hope that you like to work on cars.

Which state has more favorable laws for a private party buyer?

I'm drawing up a sale document now. I can say this vehicle is sold in Missouri or in Kansas. Which is better for me to do?

Which state is more friendly to the buyer?

ThunderChickens are nice. Bought my wife one all I can say is they are tough :D She hit a car backing up on the Interstate and knocked it clean into the woods :D

Needless to say her car was a complete loss..Should have seen the other one though ;)

gee, you'd think the guy would bother to wash the engine before taking pictures--yuck! still sounds like a great deal for the price, though. esp with only 112k! good buy!

Vehicle is now mine.

Problems discovered:

Bad headlight switch (repair underway for $10 whole dollars).

Dirty fuel injectors (poured some stuff in gas tank to cure it).

It is dangerous to go from Hyundai Excel to Thunderbird, I think.

Hyundai needed to be floored to get moving, the Thunderbird just makes this screeching noise.

Transmission is PERFECT, shifts PERFECTLY under full acceleration through all gears, engine has plenty of power, cept for the injectors being dirty right now.

Arrr, Fords rock. Gotta love them. Although I prefer the Sable to the Taurus, its all the same. All Ford, but Sable is cooler. Bench seats, great heat, good AC, power windows, locks, mirrors, driver seat. I had the stereo replaced. But its great too. I love the light up thingy where you expect to see a grill. And of course its black.

Proud owner of 1991 Sable. You may win in a race, but I'd like to see your Honda beat by Sable in a head-on. heh.

I recommend changing the coolant and thermostat, the V6 engine is known for bad headgaskets. As for the rest of the car, watch your trans fluid and change it when it's no longer bright red. The only other common problem on these engines is the front cover gaskets tend to leak coolant into the oilpan.

I was a Ford Mechanic when these car were new and several years after.

Good Luck, PM me if you would like more information.

You'd better be careful about what you put in your tank. I'd recommend just toluene.

It looks like you have the winning bid. Congratulations on the new car, dude!

Anyway, I hope that you're not too disappointed in the performance. My mom's old Ford Taurus had the same 3.8 V6 engine as that car, and it seemed to be a bit sluggish. The engine is as common as dirt, though, so you might be able to find some cheap performance mods for it.

For the injector cleaner, if the first treatment doesn't work, get a bottle of Chevron Techron, that's the best there is. Glad you like the car, one thing I had forgotten about though; the T-Bird is RWD, so be careful in the rain and snow if you're not used to it.

BUT.. If I WAS to drive a Ford, it would be a nice pimped-out TBird (NOT the new one either).

Can you make the sale contingent on a mechanic's inspection?

I agree man, good deal. Gald you like it, I've never owned a Ford (my dad does not think highly of them) but my friend has a Cougar, its awsome. Driving it is fun and on the freeway its even better. Just take care that baby, Ford engien usually live longer than cats.

The only good Ford is an SHO because the engine isn't made by them but by Yamaha.

So is the 4.6L V8. Its of a MAZDA design, Ford's 3.8L V6 is nothing compared to GM's, my Bonneville can burn that T Bird, but yet again the T bird does have a good ride and awsome feel of the wheel. Bonnevilles sucky seats and FWD just makes its horrible.

nice car. you'll enjoy it.

I have 196,000 miles on my 85 (original miles... I bought it new). I have the 302 v8 with the auto overdrive tranny & the only major maintenance I've had to do is replace the timing chain - it broke when I was doing 75 mph on I-80 coming into Cheyenne.

Say what you want about rwd cars, but the old bird sure does good at 7200 ft asl in the wintertime.
