I have been told by a TeamAnandtech member over in Distributed Computing forum who lives in the UK that when he uses internet resources located in Europe the routing usually takes him through the US then back to Europe.
If this were true overall then locating a secondary server in Europe would be counterproductive. It would make more sense to locate a send box on the east coast of the US. The primary box is currently on the west coast US.
Can anyone here confirm or deny or add any info at all about this? I would be especially interested to know the experience of those in Italy, France, Germany
and even Turkey, Russia, Afghanistan etc...
