Is it possible to get Euro plates in NY?
Here is the reason I ask: Image
I guess here's the deal with how he LEGALLY got those plates:
In Ohio, some cars are eligible for "Collector" plates (in this case all Porsche's are eligable), if you have another car registered under your name that is not registered as a collector car.
Once you register it as a collector car, you can either use the state-issued plates, or you can provide your own plates (provided they display all the required information: state, plate #, etc.), and that you keep your original plates in the car to provide them upon request.
Sounds like a good deal right? (I'd really prefer a Euro-sized plate on my car), but does anyone know if there is a similar deal in NY? Do you think I would run into any problems if I ran plates like those & just kept my real plates in the glove box? Is it worth a try?
