For the soccer/football fans out there (yes, both of you): Today was the group draw.

Group A
Switzerland
Czechia
Portugal
Turkey

Group B
Austria
Croatia
Germany
Poland

Group C
Netherlands
Italy
Romania
France

Group D
Greece
Sweden
Spain
Russia

A tough draw for the host countries Austria and Switzerland. At least Switzerland vs Turkey could be an interesting (not to say emotional) match. I think Austria has marginally better chances of advancing than Switzerland. An easy group for Germany.

Group C will be interesting, too, with three competing favorites. D on the other hand doesn't promise very exciting games I think.

C looks tough but I have lost interest after Ingerland's debacle.

I can't make any predictions other than that Romania will get spanked and humiliated at every match. :p

Group D is the most intriguing IMO...anyone could come out.

Right... anyone that starts with an 'S' ;)

The Greeks were surprising in 04. Hopefully the won't be able to surprise any teams in 08.

My predictions:

Group A: Portugal and Switzerland will advance
Group B: Germany and Poland will advance
Group C: Netherlands and France will advance
Group D: Spain and Sweden

Should prove to be interesting.
