Anyone else have this problem?
My Dad gets tons of spam/viruses from an old e-mail account. We have the latest version of Kaspersky installed, and Eudora 6.2, which I believe is the latest.
The problem is that as mail comes in, Kaspersky sees it as viruses, and rather than "stripping" the virus, my Dad literally *loses* mail. In many cases, these can be valid e-mails by with bad attachments, and in some cases, I've seen it destroy entire sets of e-mail downloads, including e-mails that have NO virus attached. This can be verified by turning off "remove from server" and checking the e-mail in a webmail client.
The only solutions I can find are either 1) Turn off the virus scanner while downloading mail (pain in the butt!) or 2) Disable "RealTime Mail Protection" in Kaspersky's On Demand Scan.
Either method makes the whole thing feel a bit unsafe. Would a different email client make any difference? Its nice to know that Kaspersky is at least working, if not a bit more than I want it to...
