ETW: Warpath Campaign

I was browsing Steam looking for a game out of boredom, and i just found out CA released a new expansion and 1.5 update for ETW.

It looked rather interesting on Steam, but when i went to go find a review for the expansion, i could not find a single one.

Apparently its been out since the 5th on Steam. Has anyone heard anything about this? Anyone bought it already?

Wondering if its worth the buy. Seems to add a lot of content for the Native Americans for only $9.99

It's not an expansion, just a DLC for Empire. I haven't read too much into it but if it's mainly melee battles (as the native factions are basically all melee with some cavalry) I don't think I'd enjoy it much. I'd like to hear from someone who has tried it however.

nobody? as much as i dislike ETW, i'm about to download it and see if its worth playing.

Wasn't that great, at least after playing as the cherokee. The one major turn off is that you're basically in control of a mob. I would at least of hopped to have numbers on my side vs. America or Spain, but all I have are spit wads and axes. It's challanging , but you will be wishing you had access to a rifle platoon after an hour of playing.

The calvery selection is rather bland as well.

Yeah, Its not that great.

It would be nice if the archers were as powerful as they used to be. But the latest patch made archers absolutely useless. They rarely hit a damn thing and get mowed down by anyone.

The indians are terrible and you only get a handful of different units. The only good units the Indians actually get are end game units, but it more than likely takes the entire game to get there since the land in North America the Indians inhabit is poor as can be.

I experienced my first jaw-dropping moment when i sent 3 units of Archers, 1 unit of Warriors against 1 unit of Spanish Line Infantry, and they crushed me. I hid my warriors in some trees, and got my 3 archers up on a hill. I waited until the line infantry had passed my warriors, then i engaged with all 3 archers. Apparently the Spanish start with half a tech tree already researched as i was subsequently fired upon by 3 ranks of rifles decimating my archers by a third. My Warriors then charged the line infantry from behind. My warriors routed within about 5 seconds of engaging.


Bullshit? I think so. Hopefully they patch the Indians because they fucking suck. If they want to be at all realistic, they should give the Indians overall strong melee infantry and good archers to stand a chance. Right now, if you play the Indians you're basically trying to play a whole campaign with nothing but Militia units.

I'm glad I didn't buy it. Creative Assembly has been bringing the disappointment lately. First I paid full price like a sucker for the deluxe edition of E:TW because I loved Medieval 2. Then fast forward to more recent times, after hardly playing the broken game. It's now pretty playable, but I'm not going to spring for this DLC pack, unless they start giving it away.
