Ethernet to Wireless

have an oki color laser printer with ethernet and usb.

what "available" hardware is necessary to make this printer wireless.

looking to alleviate the ethernet cable between the router and printer.

What you would need is a wireless print server.

They dont look to be as common anymore, but i did find this
Trendnet one at newegg, has option for both usb or ethernet

or if you are able this one is smaller and will plug direct into the usb port of the printer
TP-Link

It might be cheaper to get a wireless gaming adapter. Just buy a cheap refurb router with WiFi --> Ethernet bridge mode and problem solved for $25.

In fact, it could even work better than a USB WiFi print server. At least in the old days they used to be the source of connectivity problems, but I don't know what that's like in 2013.

EDIT:

It seems those WiFi print servers are still are problematic.

The first one gets awful reviews, and the second one gets at best mediocre reviews.

A WiFi --> Ethernet bridge may save some headache.

Yeah, you don't need a print server, just a bridge - your printer is already network aware.

I've been using one of these for a while, it's worked flawlessly. But I'm sure if you looked around, you'd find one a lot cheaper.

I actually have it plugged into a small switch, and there's 3 ethernet devices sharing the connection.

If you have an old router lieing around you might be able to flash with some custom firmware like dd-wrt or tomato and make it a wireless bridge like one of those gaming adapters.

If not i approve of the gaming adapter idea.

thanks for all the suggestion

was hoping for something small like a thumb usb wireless.

problem is that the printer firmware is not capable of assigning an ip to the thumb usb wireless adapter.

as for all those bukly solution. rather keep the printer next to the router and connect via ethernet cable.
