I have a PC and a MAC G4 hooked up through a D-Link ethernet router and a Motorola modem.
It was working flawlessly for years until recently.
Now, I quite randomly lose connection to the internet. Both computers will have an internet connection, we will step away for a few moments, come back, and the connection is lost.
Sometimes, simply cutting power to and resetting the modem fixes the problem. Other times, I need to cut power and reset both the modem and the router.
I connected the MAC G4 directly to the modem, and do not experience this problem, so the problem is definitely in the router.
What troubleshooting tips would you recommend? Is the router simply in need of replacement, or is there perhaps a configuration issue causing this?
