Ethernet ports went out...

I had to call the cable co last night to see what was up. All is fine on their end and I was told it is my ports. How do I go about reinstalling drivers or whatever for them?
 
That's interesting - why would they say it's your ports? Do they light up when a cable is connected to them?
 
Educated guess (very well educated actually): File under "usual support bull", and get them to fix the actual problem.
