I have just set up a new home network. The setup is as follows:
1) Basement: Internet (Fibre)-->Optical Network Terminal (Bell)-->HomeHub 1000-->2x Ethernet LAN connections to 1st floor and 2nd floor
2) 1st Floor: Ethernet --> Office Computer (Win 7 Pro)
3) 2nd Floor: Ethernet --> TP-Link Gigabit Switch --> NAS (Synology ds214se)
Everything seemed to be working fine, expect when I would try to upload files to my NAS (from my office computer), it would transfer one file then the network would crash.
I removed the TP-link switch, and tried it again, and it transferred maybe about 200 files, then it crashed again.
Then I tried to connect the basement like so:
Internet (Fibre)-->Optical Network Terminal (Bell)-->HomeHub 1000-->TP-link switch --> 2x ethernet LAN connections to 1st floor and 2nd floor and it's the same problem
Is this problem with my NAS, network or both? Any help is appreciated! (I'm new at networking and am having a pretty rough first go)
