Ethernet card acting strange

AFter some badly needed cable management and installation of shelving system, I plugged my computers back into the network, but now my desktop isn't connecting correctly.

When I used 192.168.1.1 to check modem settings, I would get no connection detected.

I then looked at IP address which was fine, did a release and renew and now the IP is zero. I disabled, enabled still zero.

I uninstalled the ethernet card, rebooted, now its says media disconnected.

Try entering a manual IP address and see if that works, and how exactly did you "uninstall" the card? Was it a physical removal or did you get rid of the drivers?

I uninstalled the drivers, and then reinstalled using the disc provided with the motherboard.

So is the ethernet port build into the motherboard? And what motherboard is it?
