ethanol, worms, and genes

So these people out at UCSF believe that theyve found a gene which affects a worm's "responsiveness" to alcohol's intoxicating behavioral effects.

This might explain why some people can knock down a case w/o flinching while the next guy gets floored by one beer.
Maybe pounding more beers isnt going to increase your tolerance that much since your genes might be holding you back?
But as always, this is one study in one journal on an animal.
It's not the word of God.
But it is very interesting though 🙂

I have a very low tolerance for the alcohol, but then i have a very low tolerance for most things.
I'm glad to know I can blame or thank my parents, It's alright though because i have decided to drain the gene pool,
doesn't matter to many people were pissing in it anyways.

i'm just wondering what will happen if they ever can develop an inhibitor. people will drink more because they'll be more tolerant, & you'll have a bunch of people dying from poisoning & cirosis at a crazy rate.
