Eternal Darkness on the Gamecube, is one of my all time favorite games. Next to The Legend Of Zelda...A Link To The Past.

Eternal Darkness was great.

Personally I thought Eternal Darkness got too much hype and was delayed too many times from the original expected release time frame. Still, this may be good.

I agree. I will support ANY quality survival horror endeavor, as the industry NEEDS it at this point, and there just aren't enough good ones left.

That being said, Eternal Darkness is, IMO, thoroughly overhyped. I owned it when it was new, and thoroughly underwhelming as far as scares and tension go. Not a bad playing game, just had a perpetual feeling of "My First Survival Horror Game! By Nintendo". The sanity gimmick had some neat moments, but much of it was forgettable.

I ended up selling it off within a few weeks before finishing it. I regret that, as I'd like to play through it again to be fair. But if my impressions of it as a 16-17 year old kid were "Meh..this isn't scary", I'm not sure what would change as a near 30 year old now.

the game was a mixed bag, what really stood it apart was the engine they achieved on the Gamecube. The game had really good graphics and for it's time probably the best "Cinematic" camera system.
