I've read a few times that the final refresh for this current generation of non-DX10 ATI cards will be a X1950 XT/X (likely to compete with the GX2 7950). Any rumor/preview sites out there? If it's scheduled to be out in a month or two, I may wait to see how it is...

Looks like they're basically rereleasing the x1900 with a tiny core bump. How big an upgrade can this be?

A little while back x800 xt > x850 xt was a tiny upgrade as well.

Supposedly the big improvements is the addition of GDDR4 memory and a new (hopefully quieter) cooler

I guess, but I was under the impression that core speed/fillrate was key most of the time, and they already had a ton of memory bandwidth to begin with.

IIRC memory bandwidth is what keeps the hit with AA low so more memory bandwidth could theoretically reduce the hit with AA to 0

That would be nice, virtually no hit from AA/AF/HDR and other advanced IQ settings? Or am I taking it too far...

According to the slides I saw at HKEPC,
Aug 23-27 for the X1950XTX
October '06 for the X1950 Pro (Supposed to be the 7900GT Killer, only maybe a lil' too late?)
