ETA on Ivy Bridge Macbook Airs?

How long do you suppose it will be before the MBA gets Ivy Bridge and and USB 3.0 baked in?

That combo would be pure win for me.

I don't know if Apple will ever go USB 3.0. There is aftermarket support for it (desktop cards), although at some point someone will probably make a Thunderbolt to USB3 adapter.

I'd really like an Air, but I also really want 8 gigs of RAM in it :awe:

Also what is interesting is that Intel Ivy Bridge Ultrabooks are supposed to be coming out with Retina display-quality (2,560×1,400) panels:

I wonder if we'll finally get resolution independence in OS X, coupled with some kind of ARM-based coprocessor or something.

I'd think we are 8 months too early to talk about that. Intel hasn't unveiled any official Ivy Bridge chip yet, and until we see at least cold-hard numbers like clock speed, cache, cores, TDP, and the likes, I don't suppose we'll hear anything about a new Air.
