ETA of ASUS A7V?

Can you give any info on the review of the ASUS A7V. The K7V did very well and I am eagerly awaiting the official Anandtech review of the A7V. Thanks.

This process has been going on for weeks - every time the ETA arrives, it is pushed away several days.

Originally, they said "late July or August". Then, all of a sudden, ETAs of early-to-mid July started appearing.

I think this was just a ploy by marketing people to avoid having the early-adopters buy other boards instead, such as the well-regarded MSI K7T Pro.

Especially considering that the first production run will not have the multiplier switches, and you'll have to wait for the second production run (which is when?) to get those.

The board is very expensive compared to the other KT133 boards. If processors are indeed multiplier locked I don't think the A7V will be worth all that money. Then again, Asus boards are generally more expensive,

Yea they keep pushing back the dates... I ordered my computer parts on 7/12 cuz that was the ETA of the Mobo. Then they push it back again and again. My Tbird and other computer components are just in the boxes waiting.

With the recent article concerning overclocking the AMD Durons/Thunderbirds here on anandtech.com, I think I am going to cancel my order for the ASUS A7V and order a FIC AZ11 and when the ASUS A7V has the overrides for overclocking, order it then. ASUS could make it very easy on us by cutting the traces to the BP_FID pins for us.

A friend of mine ordered a 700MHz Socket-A Thunderbird and the Epox EP-8KTA about a week+ ago... we're eagerly awaiting it..... grin.. I'll be sure and post about it when we've thoroughly examined the board

Yeah we have them all over the UK now, along with T-birds of all speeds (inc 1Ghz Socket A !!)

Unfortunatly all the Asus A7V's in the UK are the first revision (no multiplier) so we're just gonna have to wait
