I have an ESXi box that I've been trying to get set up for awhile, but I've been running into an issue where it powers off intermittently. I don't know the cause, although there is one circumstance where I can replicate the issue every time (detailed below). There are no PSODs, and nothing gets written to /var/log/messages. I'll quickly go through my hardware/software setup:

AMD FX 8150
Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3
2x8GB Kingston DDR3-1600, 2x4GB Corsair DDR3-1600 (although the issue has happened without the extra 8GB RAM).
Kingwin LZP-550 - 550w 80+ Platinum PSU (it "overclocks" to 650w at gold ratings)
2x250GB Seagate 2.5" drives for host storage.

Currently there are 8 2TB drives of various manufacturers connected to two RAID cards. I have 2xRocketRAID 2720s in it currently, which are passed through with IOMMU to the guests. I had been planning on using 2xIBM M5015s, but my SFF-8087 cables aren't long enough.

Software side:
ESXi 5.0.0 - would upgrading to 5.1.0 solve anything?
Windows Home Server 2011 (with one of the RAID cards)
pfsense (I haven't been using this since the trouble started)
FreeNAS (with the other RAID card)
-and a couple of the VMware management guests that I can't remember the name of

The easiest way to replicate the issue is to have the Windows guest running and then start the FreeNAS guest. I tried three circumstances:

Remove the RAID card from Windows and have it running. Add the previously Windows RAID card connected to FreeNAS, boot FreeNAS and then it shuts down during the startup process.

Replace the RocketRAID with the IBM M5015. Have Windows guest running, start FreeNAS, and it shuts down during startup.

Remove the RAID card from FreeNAS and it starts up properly.

I'd appreciate any ideas on what to try next. Thanks.
