Estimating database size with a forum

rudder

I work for a smaller company and I want to put a user forum for our members on our website. We use a webhost provider since it much cheaper than hosting at our office. How much size do you think a typical forum database, such as UBB would take it had say 5000 members with average use. Even if you knew what the database size of anandtech with 90,000 users is that would be a good reference.

Right now our account has only 25 megs of SQL storage. I would imagine we would need much more than that especially as use grows. But I would kind of like to work out an estimate of how much I would need if the forums got up to speed.

Nope never found an answer. I did find a better hosting company that allows me to add 100 megs of sql storage at a time. Hopefully within a month, I will have our associations forums up ad running and we will see then. I anticipate at most 1000 regular users with maybe upto 5000 casual users posting in our forums. I can't imagine it would get too big.

PM a couple of members here in AT that have theor own independent forums.

Adul & Heather(HzlEyeGirl)
