Well I am not sure of what the price would actually be, but 5 to 10k will only get you a nice designed basic site. I'm sure what you are asking for will be substantially more.

really, damn. i can modify the code from those open source content management junk all over the net. What i was hoping for was an experience company that can simply modifying those functions into a better GUI interface.

any second opinion. my creativity is zero, rather pay someone to help me in that department.

if not 5-10k, how much?

a friend of mine does this. i forwarded him your specs and waiting to see what he says.. he does very good work.

*edit* yeah he said he can do this. i think he can definitely match your price needs, and he does a great job. YHPM

I don't know if you're a MS product user but Windows Sharepoint Services can do most of what you want out of the box.

Yea, i was looking into that. Is it a software where i deploy on a server or is more like a application i used to make. Or is it something i setup through microsoft. Do you have any experience on it?

From Microsoft:
Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services is a versatile technology that organizations and business units of all sizes can use to increase the efficiency of business processes and improve team productivity. With tools for collaboration that help people stay connected across organizational and geographic boundaries, Windows SharePoint Services gives people access to information they need.

Ah, this is exactly what i need. I dont have any experience with Windows Sharepoint Services though. Anyone have experiences in this department?

IIS up and running with ms sharepoint deploy. It pretty much what i think my partners wanted. Thanks a bunch.

What the easiest software to use to developed custom application to add on to this SP?

This is a very small project; co-location is probably not what we have in mind, are there hosting provider that use SP? Any recommendation / cost?

MS Visual Studio is what you want to use to develop custom web parts. If you don't have experience with programming you will find this challenging. There are a large variety of good custom web parts / applications built by third parties available online, often these are relatively expensive but should easily fit into your earlier proposed budget. That might be the way to go if you want to get this rolled out quickly.

There are a number of WSS hosts available. I don't have any experience with any of them as everything I have done has been in house.
