Hankysmoo
I use it with a HP LJ 5.
I print both on labels and first class envelopes.
I use Avery labels, some of which came with the software and the rest I bght from E-Stamp.
I found that I had to insert the envelope right side up with the flap at the far end of the override paper input tray. Which means as I would look at it, the flap is on the right, but underneath the envelope....got it ?
Do test print(s) to see how to get yours to work.
Check...there should be an alignment adjustment window somewhere in the proggie.
According to E-Stamp, they won't refund the free $ 50.00 credit, so use it up.
But, you must download and install v 1.2b (I think) of their proggie, otherwise you will have trouble using it after 1/7/01 ! bec of the new postage rates.
Check the USPS addy match CD you got...look at the underside; if it says "700" it means it was made in July 2000 and will expire 12/31/00; after said date NG !
Call them and have them send you a later dated CD...I think it's October 2000 which will let you use the addy check feature until it's time to send back the vault.
Also...
According to E-Stamp, the USPS will not issue a new CD; as E-Stamp will let users use the proggie until approx the end of 2/01, they expect to post a service pack on their site on or about 1/3/01...you may receive an email about it; be sure to get it; seems to me without it, also NG.
Finally, the vault must be back there by 3/1/01...or so I'm told...it must be returned....see their site, as it's required by the License terms. You have to call for an RMA, etc.
One last thing....once you send back your vault and can't use the proggie...you'll have fancy (postal license) toilet paper....
Whew....! Got it ?
Good luck
EDIT:
The sheets are put in as a whole; the proggie is supposed to remember which location on the sheet to use, based on the style of sheet you are using (it's in the manual or help file). The problem is: if you put in a whole sheet to use for one label and keep doing it this way...the sheet gets dirty and messy bec. the heat applied to dry the ink is tremendous...a drawback to doing it this way....
