ESPN's Playmakers

Me, too. I've been looking forward to the premiere for about a month now, when ESPN first started showing commercials. Looks like it's going to be a good show.

I didn't see it. but is it anything like Any Given Sunday?

saw the first episode last night too. really enjoyed it. kept me enthralled

but it was only about 40 minutes long. kinda odd length for a show

that's because they aired it with no commercials...i missed it casue our power and cable were out all night and still is out 🙁

It was good enough to keep me interested through the whole thing, but I don't think it was good enough to keep me around for 11 episodes or however many they did for this season. From what I read about episode 2, it seems like it will get even more unbelievable and over the top.

It just made me think, why the hell hasn't there been a great football movie? There have been some ok ones, but there's been a great b-ball movie (hoosiers), plenty of great baseball movies (bull durham, field of dreams), even boxing and track and field for crying out loud. And Any Given Sunday is the best football movie going? That's weak stuff.

Anyway, back on target. The show was interesting, and I liked all of the main story lines and main characters. I just hope they can raise it up a level.

You got me - I don't know how I missed that. All those others are ok or good. I'm talking about a great movie. Brian's Song probably fits that bill, although it was a TV movie, so it may not count. . . 😉
