I think why they picked Steelers and Ravens the most is because both those teams play old school. They play the style of we are the toughest team on the field and we will kick your ass. You had to be tough back in the day to play. They let hitting go and today quarterbacks would have tapped out long ago. Remember when you could close line a guy that is the type of hits that were happening. There was no pussy sliding either from quarterbacks. Having Ben at 3 is good choice because he a tough SoB. Manning I don't think he would have lasted back in the day.

When I think of Suh I think of a player that might one day be the best defensive interior lineman, but I likely won't think of him as being all that much better than the rest of the competition. But, when I think of Megatron I think of someone that is right now so much better than most of his peers, that he changes the game when he steps on the field.

I have to laugh at any list that puts Tim Tebow in the top 20.

You guys obviously do not understand the intent of the list.

And gimp, read the criteria, Jerry Rice is not playing right now.

Most of you guys are missing the intent of the list.

Gimp and Chess, it's current players.

edit: LMAO, the posting bug is back.

I have to laugh at any list that doesn't have Jerry Rice in the top 5 and puts Tim Tebow in the top 20.

You do know that the list is intended for current NFL players right?

Don't worry, you're not the only one who cant read :)

Then I'll modify my statement by saying I have to laugh at any list that includes Tim Tebow in the top 20. Better?

It was current players... but even then I'd say that Polamalu is questionable because he's only played 9 seasons and there's talk that his best years are behind him. When he does it for 16 years like Ray Lewis and Brian Dawkins, then I'd put him in the top 10 for toughness. Also, when he can surpass Dawkins' FF/game, sacks/game, Passes defended/game, tackles/game, and hits harder then we can talk - right now all he has are Int's/game rate advantage and his hair.

Misleading article title. It says "any era team" but it's only for current players? What?

Oh and Tebow isn't even a top 20 quarterback, much less a top 20 player overall.

Ah, ok. Just pulled up the article. Guess I misinterpreted what they were going for with "Any Era"

well...I don't see any receivers. Didn't click on link, figured top 20 was the entire list, as bad as it is.

How could you not have Calvin Johnson and Larry Fitzgerald in the top 20, when you include guys like Tebow, Rapistburger, and a pile of defensive lineman playing the same position?

makee no sensee.

Thats how much I care about the espn rankings...

You might as well put Grossman on there instead of Tebow :awe:

I dont like the steelers so i am biased haha... Polamalu is a beast... hands down top 3 safety in the league with reed.....

but ray ray #1... Eh i dunno about that either

I think Lewis at #1 is fair. He's played at a high level forever. Seems like a huge task, when you consider that a similar player to him, Dick Butkus, only spent 9 years in the league.

Lewis is #1, I'm not going to dispute that. He has toughness, leadership, longevity and intimidation. While he may have lost a step recently, he could probably play for another good 4 years before retiring if his health permits.

LOL, Hines Ward. Did they just toss a bunch of random names into a hat and draw?

Tell me who is a tougher wide receiver then Hinds? I think you guys never saw old school football. I'm only 39 and know how it was back in the day. Hinds was never a speed guy, most yards guy, 100 receptions guy but Ward was the most all around compete wide receiver in the game. He does everything including blocking. You guys are blinded by flashy type players.
