Not surprised...I had said that we'd be lucky if we were still in the single digits. That game fvcking sucked, damn Navarre played like he did 2 years ago. But man, did Kansas State plummet ;)

I don't understand the rationale for USC moving past Ohio State last week in this poll.

Ohio State has beaten Washington and NC State, both of which were ranked in the top 25 preseason, why is running up the score on Hawaii more significant ?

I don't agree with Oklahoma or Miami being ahead of Ohio State either, but I can see some rationale for it. I just don't see the same thing about USC.

Please enlighten me, someone..

Canes will Spank USC (Where I go to school now) in the Sugar Bowl.

And with the championship that was denied them last year.

That is all.

OSU has sucked royally the past THREE weeks now, and by all accounts already should have lost a game, if not two. They are the luckiest team in college football at this point, today. Let's recap:

16-13 victory over San Diego State
44-38 victory over NC State in triple overtime
24-17 victory over Bowling Green

I'm not sure what can be said for the SD State or the BG games, as they are both unranked, lowly opponents. NC State completely botched the play calling on the 2nd and 3rd downs in triple OT on the goal line by calling two QB sneaks, enabling OSU to hold on to that one. The Buckeyes do not look like the defending national champions and they will lose this season, most likely to a Michigan team that will deliver a win at the Big House in November.

When OSU loses, it will be a good day.

Go Hokies!

How is Texas ranked above Arkansas, the team that beat them - at home? That is crap.

Texas - 2-1
UA - 3-0

That makes absolutely no sense. If Texas had played a Top 25 team, that might make a difference - but their wins are against NMSU and Rice.

Actually, he would be a Longhorn. The Aggies are Texas A&M, the team VT beat on Thursday night, 35-19.

I'm still pissed about UGA's loss to LSU. Good lawd, that game sucked. Three missed field goals, who knows how many dropped passes...was just really painful to watch. And the worst part is, we'd have probably cracked the top 5 had we won. Bleh.

Well I for one was pretty happy with our effort this past week. If RC was still coach you would have won by 50+. But we still were in a position to win in the 4th on the Road which is damn good for how crappy our Defense is. Oh the possibilities if we had a defense. Who ever thought we would be saying that at Texas A&M.

They lost to Toledo and Tennessee.

GO HERD!

Yeah, losing to TN was bad enough (yes, they could have beaten them but this is not a couldhave wouldhave shouldhave world) but losing to Toldeo in a convincing manner will keep the Herd out of the top 25. I think they have to win the division and beat Northern Illinois (who is ranked now) in the MAC Championship to get a top 20 spot.

I know down here in ACC land, there is no love for the conference in general. If an ACC team is playing a non-conference opponent, then everybody roots for the other team. But for me, I am very happy that the MAC daddies won big games against BCS teams. Ohio State had a big scare from Bowling Green, too. I hope every year that the MAC does some serious damage to the BCS hegemony. Every year, the bowls keep the have from the have nots with increasing BCS bowl revenue.

I was at the game ... despite being wet, it was a great game for both sides and I was impressed with A&M. The game was a little too close for comfort through the 3rd quarter, but VT's defense really went into lockdown mode in the 2nd half, after allowing a crapload of yards in the 1st.

After watching him run around the field, I have one thing to say: Reggie McNeal is one fast guy!

Good luck to A&M the rest of the season.

I guess I'll have to take your word on that one - I just thought from your post you were referring to the wrong Texas team. Sorry!

Welcome to the world of preseason rankings. At least that stinker Auburn has finally dropped out.

I'm kind of irked that the win over an undefeated Texas Tech team did not put NC State back in. Not as irked as I am by that no talent assclown Noel Mazzone still having a job after making us fall behind by a couple of touchdowns for his retarded play calling and then having to use Phillip Rivers to try and save the day. I mean come on you have argueably the best QB in the nation(completing nearly 80% of his passes) and some wide outs with great hands, your best runner is out...so what do you do? Try and run the ball against a team that is giving up less than 1 yard per rush attempt and continuing to attempt to run against a team that is stacking up everyone on the line to block the run and any short passes(which was the only thing being called). You have the ball first and goal from the 5 and you call 2 quarterback sneaks against a team that is both excellent against the run and has in their goal line defense. God I hope Amato ripped him a new one.

Everytime NC State went deep against Ohio State it either got a reception a flag or some blind refs calling an interception. It should not have even gone into overtime. NC State was cheated because of employing Mazzone(A tight ends coach....wtf is that?)

Please come back Norm Chow.

Please Nitemare, don't hold back. Tell us how you really feel.

BTW, everybody ready to play against Carolina? I hear the cheerleaders will be at practice drills on Thursday to get ready for their 3rd quarter appearance.
:p
