I just don't get why everyone and their brother is now offering wireless service. Next on the list: Comedy Central Mobile. Your phone will make fun of you when it rings.

I'm not saying I'm not inrigued by the idea, just that I don't know how EVERYONE can survive given that analysts are calling for consolidation in the wireless industry.

Sprint is the one offering the service more or less. The ESPN part is just to sell more crap.

Yup
Yes and no. It's not like Sprint is just selling ESPN phones and content. ESPN is offering ESPN phones and content, they're ust using Sprint's network. It's no different than what AT&T will be doing, but you wouldn't say Sprint is just providing service with AT&T's name on it, would you?

But I'm sure ESPN will procure the handsets themselves, make up the content themselves, market it themselves, etc. Vonage doesn't have its own network, but you wouldn't say they're reselling their respective ISP's service, would you? Granted there's a difference in that Vonage doesn't have to pay the ISP either, but they are being paid just to offer somewhat different service through an existing network.
