Stats have about nothing to do with running an offense, but keep relying on them newbies.

Once again a newb shows his true colors. PG's who can dribble the ball down the court and set up the offense are a dime a dozen. It's about playmaking, either scoring yourself, or setting someone else up for the score, playing lock-down defense, etc. Any nublet with ball handling skills can go through the motions and run an offense.

Ball handling is something a 'nublet' can do? You must be a great basketball player because ball handling is incredibly difficult even at the Juco level. You played at at least the Juco level right?

As for the description of what a point guard does "Shoot or pass to someone who shoots". You must know something I don't, because the masters at that, Francis and Marbury both missed the playoffs again. While players who stay within an offense (Parker, Nash, Kidd, Williams, Cassell, Billups) are still in the playoffs.

Oh well, maybe someday you can teach me about shoot/pass basketball.

If you want to talk about my playing experience you can PM me, I'm not going to wave my e-peen around in this thread.

You're throwing out Marbury and Francis, two "jack-up" players. Parker, Nash, Kidd, Billups, etc etc, what do they shoot? Open jumpers or individually created layups. They create for their team, and can take over with no ill effects on team. When Marbury and Francis "take over" a game, nobody else is involved. They just stand around watching them drive to the hoop and shoot an impossible layup or a fadeaway 25 footer. The problem with those two isn't talent, it's their ego and team play. They are a cancer on any team and can't take the backseat to anyone. You not being able to differentiate that also shows your lack of knowledge for the game, unless you're just trying to be a smartass.

It's almost like you're realizing why stats don't matter, almost.

So, where in this thread have I talked about the greatness of a player is determined by stats?

Watching Magic play was a sight to be seen. He was unbelievable! I wish I was a bit older and had the opportunity to see him play more.

I'd take out Nash and stick in either Mo Cheeks or Lebron James.
Cheeks is proven and you can't deny James's potential.
As for Stockton not winning a title, blame the vastly overrated Mailman.
I wouldn't trust Malone with a last shot, unlike Stockton who shot a career .515 which is incredible. Plus his assists, steals, toughness, dirty picks (plus good acting to boot)...

I think Elgin Baylor would have been more than a match for Jordan if they played in the same era.
